I always keep a pack or jar of Gulp brand minnows. They look like the real deal. I stopped and fished in the marina after catching my walleye limit. I cast it with a bobber about 18″ down and twitch it near the dock posts and Lilly pads. I got between 6 and 8 of these in a 1/2 hour 4 days in a row. All were between 10-13 inches.
