Crappie come big in this pond.
If we ever make it down to Sophia N.C. we’re going to have to find out where Samuels pond is.
His method on the crappie:
This Crappie was caught out of my pond in Sophia N.C. I was using a cork with a jig, I fished it right next to the drain pipe on the dam.

The same goes for the bluegill, not too often you see them this size.
The blue gill:
This Bluegill was caught in my small farm pond. I was using a cork and grasshopper, this it the biggest one I’ve ever seen caught!
So where exactly in Sophia N.C. is this pond? It holds some decent small game fish. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a bluegill that big myself. Great catches Samuel and as always thanks for the submissions.
Your Catches: From the depths of Climax N.C.

Samuel caught this crappie on a corked live minnow.
We asked Samuel how he nailed this beautiful crappie:
I was at an old farm pond in Climax N.C. that has been around since about 1900’s. I was using a live minnow with a cork about 3 to 4ft deep. I was on the dam and knew that it was a deep drop off. I cast the minnow beside an old log sticking up from the water and sure enough caught that bad boy.
Which further proves our point about cover! Thanks for the submission Samuel we can’t wait to see your next catch.
