This was the first catch of the day for me on the Oneida River. It was caught very close to shore and was a quick lift on to land. I guess it was eager for me to get the hook out of its mouth. I was using a Bass Pro Shops Pro Qualifier Spinning Reel & Rod loaded with 8lb Berkely Trilene XL fishing line.

Don't hate me beacuse I'm beautiful!

First Impressions: Bass Pro Shops Pro Qualifier Rod & Reel

Because where would we be without the "Power Hump Grip" in our lives?

I recently fell victim to Bass Pro Shops “Outdoor Days” sale. The misfortune (read: fortune) of a recently broken reel gave me the justification needed to shop around for a new toy. After much deliberation I decided on the Pro Qualifier reel and rod from the BPS Extreme Performance Series. The Pro Qualifier Series is marketed by BPS as tournament grade tackle suitable for “weekend buddy bashes” or competing in the Bassmaster Classic, all at a reasonable price of course.

I haven’t spent the amount of time needed to write a full on respectable review of my new Pro Qualifier outfit. I’ll quickly admit that I’ve enjoyed the short time I’ve had with it though. Integrity is on the line here folks and I simply refuse to chisel my words in stone until I experience the glory of a “weekend buddy bash” or compete in the Bassmaster Classic. These are after all the qualitative guidelines upon which I am given by Bass Pro Shops to judge this equipment.
