Braid is popular among many fishermen, but what about this braid?

I’m a huge fan of braid, but this shouldn’t even be marketed as such. I picked this up on a whim at our local Gander Mountain. I tested 65lb test line, on a more than capable reel. With absolutely dismal results.

Right off the bat the cast quality was extremely poor. It felt as though I was casting line made of linked metal chain, every single impurity felt as my line bumped and bobbled through the poles guides.

Alright, so braid isn’t always the smoothest line to throw. Give it the benefit of the doubt you say? Not so much, it was within 30 casts I noticed the line beginning to fray in spots. You could literally see uneven wear on the line.
