I picked up this 13" crappie on Oneida Lake while drifting for walleyes. I was switching back and forth casting a jig and casting a silver willow blade over the weeds. This one hit the spinner. I got 2 walleyes on the spinner and 4 walleyes jigging.

The right rod can make all the difference, take the time to get smart about bass rods

Power
The power of a rod is the strength of the rod. The lighter your rod’s power, the smaller and lighter your lure will be, the heavier it is, the heavier and bigger your lure will be.

Action
The action of a rod refers to its flexibility and where the rod bends. Moderate action rods will bend in the middle of the rod, also making the rod very flexible which is great for cranking. Fast action rods will bend within the first 30% of the tip. giving you flex, but more power than a moderate rod. Extra fast action rods will have very little bend, giving you lots of power. Great for muscling strong fish out of thick vegetation.
